Home & living in Finland: second-hand and new furniture, kitchenware, lamps, rugs, curtains, mirrors and decor from people nearby. Furnish your first flat on a budget, or sell what no longer fits your home.
Furniture is the main attraction — sofas, wardrobes, beds, tables and chairs — but the section also covers kitchen & tableware, lighting, textiles such as bedding and towels, curtains & blinds, carpets & rugs, mirrors and decor. Storage, from shelving units to boxes, and household goods like irons, drying racks and cleaning gear complete the list.
Each subsection has its own “Product type” filter, so you can go straight to bookcases or bedside lamps instead of scrolling. If you’re moving in, set your city and a radius and sort by distance: a bulky wardrobe is much easier to collect from across town than from the other end of the country. An “Urgent” badge means the seller is ready for a quick deal — useful when you need to furnish a flat this week.
Ask for exact dimensions — width, depth and height — and measure your doorways, stairs and lift before you go. On a sofa or armchair, sit down, listen for creaks in the frame and check the upholstery for stains, tears and smells; ask whether pets or smokers lived in the home. Open every drawer and door, check the hinges and runners, and look for swollen chipboard near the legs, a sign of water damage.
With flat-pack furniture, ask whether the seller will take it apart and whether all screws and fittings are included. Switch on lamps and electrical household goods at the viewing and look at the cable and plug. Rugs and curtains are best checked in daylight, where colour and wear are easy to see.
Clear the space around the item and photograph it in daylight, from the front and at an angle, with close-ups of the material and any wear. Put the dimensions in the first lines of the description — it’s the first thing buyers ask. Add the brand or model if you know it, the age, and whether the piece is assembled.
Be clear about pickup: which floor, is there a lift, will you help carry it down? Small items like lamps, tableware or textiles can go by parcel locker or post. If you mostly want the space back, a modest price with “Open to offers” lets buyers send offers in the chat — or you can give the item away in the Free section.
Agree on the date, time and floor in the Nordo chat, and bring enough people and straps for heavy pieces. Check the item before you pay — once a wardrobe is in the van, it’s too late to find a broken door. Pay the seller directly in cash or by transfer; Nordo doesn’t hold the money. When it’s done, you both confirm the deal in the chat and can leave each other a review.
Photograph it in daylight from several angles, add close-ups of the fabric and give the exact dimensions. Say whether pets or smokers lived in the home and when the buyer can collect it. A fair price plus “Open to offers” lets buyers send you an offer straight in the chat.
Yes. Post it in the Free section and it will carry the “Free” badge. Describe how and when it can be collected and from which floor. Posting is free, and once the item is gone, mark the listing as sold so people stop writing to you.
Ask for dimensions and measure your doorways first. At the viewing, sit on sofas and chairs, open every drawer and door, test the hinges and look for swelling, stains and smells. Ask whether it will be dismantled and whether all screws and fittings are included. Pay only after you’ve checked everything.
It depends on the seller. When posting, sellers choose from meet up, parcel locker, courier or post. Large furniture is usually collected in person or sent by courier, while lamps, tableware and textiles fit in a parcel locker. Agree on the details, and who pays for delivery, in the chat.
Choose your city and set a search radius, then sort by distance to see the closest listings first. Use the “Product type” filter to go straight to what you need, and save the search to get a notification on the site and in the app about new matches.
