About this category

Clothing & shoes in Finland: second-hand and new clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery and watches, from everyday basics to wedding dresses. Filter by size and brand, buy from people nearby and turn a crowded wardrobe into extra cash.

What’s on the rails

The section covers everyday clothing, shoes, dresses & skirts, outerwear for the long cold season, underwear & swimwear, sportswear and headwear. Accessories have their own place: bags and jewellery & watches. Wedding & evening wear gives a dress worn for one evening a second life, and workwear covers uniforms and practical clothes for the job.

Start with “Gender”, “Clothing size” or “Shoe size”, then narrow down with “Clothing type”, “Season” and “Brand”. Accessories have their own filters: “Bag type” and “Bag size”, “Hat size”, “Cup size” for lingerie and “Hallmark” for gold and silver jewellery. Save a search for your size and favourite brand, and new matches will reach you as a notification on the site and in the app.

How to judge fit and quality

Sizes vary between brands, so ask for real measurements: chest, waist, length and sleeve, and inner sole length for shoes. Compare them with something you already own that fits well. Ask the seller to photograph the label, seams, underarms and cuffs — the places where wear shows first.

With winter coats and jackets, check the zip, the lining and the filling; down should spread evenly when you shake it. With shoes, look at the soles, heels and insoles. When buying branded bags, watches or jewellery, ask for the receipt, box or certificate, and compare details such as stitching, logo and hallmark with photos of the original. Counterfeits are not allowed on Nordo — if you spot one, use “Report”. If you’re buying underwear & swimwear second-hand, look for items with the tags still on.

Selling clothes that actually sell

Wash or clean the item, iron it and photograph it in daylight, on a hanger or laid flat against a plain background; a photo of it being worn helps buyers imagine the fit. Add close-ups of the label and fabric, show any flaws honestly, and use only your own photos.

Fill in size, brand, type and season — buyers filter by them, and an empty field can keep your listing out of their results. Put the measurements in the description and say how often the item was worn. Light items are easy to send by parcel locker or post, which opens your listing to buyers in other towns. Tick “Open to offers” if you’re happy to receive offers in the chat.

Trying on and handing over

If you’re buying locally, meet in a busy public place in daylight, ideally somewhere you can try the item on or at least hold it up. For postal deals, agree in the chat on parcel locker or courier and who covers the cost. Pay the seller directly — a link to “pay for delivery” sent by a seller is almost always a scam. When the item arrives as described, confirm the deal in the chat and leave a review.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if second-hand clothes will fit?

Ask the seller for actual measurements — chest, waist, length, sleeve — and compare them with clothes you own that fit well. For shoes, ask for the inner sole length. Sizes differ between brands, so measurements are more reliable than the number on the label.

How can I sell clothes faster?

Clean and iron the item, take daylight photos on a hanger or laid flat, and add a close-up of the label. Fill in “Clothing size”, “Brand”, “Clothing type” and “Season”, list the measurements and be honest about any flaws. Offer parcel locker or post so buyers from other towns can buy too.

How can I tell if a designer bag is genuine?

Ask for the receipt, box, dust bag or certificate, and request close-up photos of the stitching, logo, lining and serial tag. Compare them with photos of the original. If the price is far below similar listings or the seller avoids questions, be careful. Counterfeits are forbidden on Nordo — use “Report” if you see one.

Can I sell a wedding dress here?

Yes, wedding & evening wear has its own subsection. Show the dress full-length and in detail, give the size and real measurements, and mention any alterations. Posting is free, and the listing stays up for 60 days, with reminders and a one-tap option to extend it.

Can I send clothes by post?

Yes, if the seller offers it. When creating a listing, sellers choose from meet up, parcel locker, courier and post. Agree in the chat on who pays for shipping and how you’ll pay — directly between you, since Nordo doesn’t hold the money.
