Garden in Latvia: plants and seedlings, lawn mowers and trimmers, greenhouses, garden furniture, grills, pools and fencing. Get your plot ready for the season with gear from local gardeners, or sell what you no longer need.
Gardeners offer plants & flowers and seeds & seedlings, often straight from their own beds — perennials, berry bushes, houseplants, tomato seedlings in spring. For the hard work there’s garden machinery such as mowers, trimmers and tillers, along with garden tools, irrigation and fertiliser & soil. Greenhouses & cold frames, garden furniture, pools & ponds, grills & smokers and fencing complete the picture.
Filter plants by “Plant type” and “Plant kind”, machinery by “Machinery type”, “Brand” and “Fuel type”, greenhouses and fencing by “Width”, “Length”, “Height” and “Material”, soil and fertiliser by “Weight or volume”, and pools by “Volume”. Search by city and radius: plants and heavy machinery are easiest to buy close to home.
Start a mower or trimmer at the meeting — from cold, if possible — and let it run for a few minutes. Look at the blade, the cutting deck and the wheels, check for oil leaks and ask about the last service. For battery machines, ask how old the battery is and how long a charge really lasts.
With plants, ask whether they were grown outdoors and will cope with the local winter, and check the leaves and roots for pests. Greenhouses are usually sold dismantled: count the panels and fixings, look for bent parts and make sure you know how to put it back together. With grills and smokers, check the bowl for rust holes and look at the grate and burners.
Demand follows the calendar: seedlings and machinery in spring, grills and pools in early summer, greenhouses and fencing whenever people plan their plots. Post a little ahead of the season and add several daylight photos — a flowering plant or a freshly cut lawn says more than words.
Fill in the filters: “Machinery type”, “Brand” and “Fuel type” for machines, dimensions and “Material” for greenhouses and furniture, “Weight or volume” for soil and fertiliser. In the description, mention the age, how many seasons it’s been used and what comes with it. If you have more seedlings than you can sell, the Free section is a good place for them.
Heavy machinery, greenhouses and garden furniture are normally collected in person, and plants travel best by hand too; seeds and small tools can go by parcel locker or post. Meet in daylight, check the item and pay the seller directly. Your phone number is hidden on your profile by default, so everything can be arranged in the Nordo chat.
Seedlings and potted plants don’t like frost or hot car boots, so agree on a pickup time that suits the weather and bring boxes or trays. After the handover, confirm the deal in the chat: reviews from real deals help other gardeners know whom to trust.
Start it at the meeting and let it run for a few minutes. Check the blade, deck and wheels, look for oil leaks and ask when it was last serviced. For battery mowers, ask how old the battery is and how long it really runs. If you can, cut a strip of grass before paying.
Yes. Plants & flowers and seeds & seedlings have their own subsections with “Plant type” and “Plant kind” filters. Describe the variety, size and growing conditions, and add daylight photos. Plants are best handed over in person, while seeds can be sent by post.
Ask for the dimensions, the frame material and whether it’s already dismantled. At the viewing, count the panels and fixings and look for bent or broken parts. Make sure you can transport it and know how to reassemble it. Filter by “Width”, “Length” and “Material” to find the right size.
Before the season starts — in spring for mowers, trimmers and tillers, when people are getting their plots ready. Post a few weeks ahead, give the brand, fuel type and age, and mention the last service to answer buyers’ first question.
Yes. Post surplus cuttings or seedlings in the Free section, and the listing will show the “Free” badge. Say where and when they can be collected. It’s an easy way to clear your beds and help a neighbour start their own.
