Cars are the heart of the section, but far from all of it. You’ll find motorcycles, mopeds & scooters, ATVs & buggies and snowmobiles; trucks & machinery, buses & vans and farm machinery for work; boats, campers & caravans and trailers for holidays; and e-scooters & e-bikes for getting around town. Filters change with the subsection. For cars, use “Make”, “Model”, “Year”, “Mileage”, “Fuel”, “Gearbox”, “Drive” and “Body type”, and check “Steering” so you don’t end up with the wheel on the wrong side. Boats have “Vessel type”, “Length” and “Engine”, campers have “Berths”, machinery has “Engine hours” and “Load, t”, and e-bikes show “Range” and “Top speed”.
What to check before you buy
Start with the paperwork. Ask to see the registration documents and the service history, and compare the VIN on the car with the one in the papers. Make sure you’re dealing with the owner, or with someone the owner has clearly authorised. Ask about accidents, the last service and how many keys come with the car.
On the test drive, start the engine from cold, watch for smoke, listen for knocks and check that the gearbox shifts smoothly. Look at tyre wear, the gaps between body panels and underneath for rust and leaks. If you’re not confident, bring a friend who knows cars or ask an independent garage to inspect it — agree on this with the seller in advance. The same logic applies to motorcycles, boats and machinery: see it running before you pay.
How to sell a vehicle faster
Wash the car and take photos in daylight from all four corners, plus the interior, the dashboard with the engine running, the engine bay, the tyres and any damage. A sharp photo of the odometer does more than a long paragraph about how well the car was looked after.
Fill in every field you can — “Make”, “Model”, “Year”, “Mileage”, “Engine”, “Power”, “Fuel”, “Gearbox”, “Colour” — because few buyers scroll through unfiltered results. In the description, cover the service history, known faults, the number of owners and extras such as a second set of wheels. State a real price: listings like “€1, details in the chat” are removed. Tick “Open to offers” if you’re ready to haggle, then reserve the vehicle for the buyer you agree with.
Safe deals for vehicles
Never pay a deposit to “hold” a car you haven’t seen, especially if the seller claims to be abroad and promises delivery. Meet in daylight, check the vehicle and the documents together, and pay the owner directly, by bank transfer or in cash. Nordo doesn’t handle payments, so any link to pay “through the site” or for delivery is a red flag. Spare parts and accessories can travel by parcel locker, courier or post.
